Lamara is pleased to announce that it has been awarded Gold at a prestigious international olive oil competition in the United Arab Emirates and by the Institute of Olive Oil in the Netherlands for quality in the consumer market.
Olive oil experts and connoisseurs are urged to acquire a bottle or two of Lamara Franschhoek’s multiple award-winning extra virgin olive oils as judges from across the globe agree that the farm produces a premium extra virgin olive deserving awards for its excellence.
The Olio Nuovo Liwa South Hemisphere festival is held annually in Abu Dhabi under the authority of Cultural Programs and Heritage Festivals. A celebration of dates and olive oil, it is attended by the most influential people of the region including His Highness Hamdan bin Zayed for this year’s festival. 47 extra virgin olive oil producers from 6 different countries in the Southern Hemisphere entered the competition and Lamara’s flagship blend won a gold award.
With headquarters in the Netherlands, the Olive Oil Institute is responsible for coordinating quality control and marketing of outstanding extra virgin olive oils to the consumer market. Once an olive oil has passed the tests for extra virgin quality, a panel of judges scores and awards it with one of three Quality Marks: Gold, Silver or Bronze. An award from the Institute is a seal of approval and recognition for outstanding quality, providing consumers with confidence in their purchase of extra virgin olive oil. The Lamara Franschhoek blend of green and ripe Frantoio, Leccino, Coratina and Mission olives was awarded gold by the Institute.
