On Sunday 30th of September there was a big festive fundraiser event held at Lakeside Paradise, Knokke for the benefit of Qhubeka. Qhubeka (www.qhubeka.org) is a non-profit organisation founded in 2005 that uses bicycles as a tool of change to connect people in schools, clinics and jobs. Qhubeka means “to progress” or “to move forward”, because bicycles help people to travel faster and further, to carry more but above all to move forward.
Six Belgium friends who will participate in the Cape Epic 2019 (www.cape-epic.com) in three teams decided to support this initiative. Team 1: Marc Verhofsé and Filip van Poucke; Team 2: Gunther Biddelo and Bart Cocquyt; Team 3 (owner of Lamara South Africa) JM de Buck, and Frederik Dhondt will all ride under Devonboch have this one goal in mind – to be involved.
A true South African braai were held at Lakeside Paradise Knokke with different stalls like Devonbosc Lifestyle Estate, BioRacer, Vélocien and MTB4Kids all at one place. True South African wines and Lamara Franschhoek’s extra virgin olive oil which is SA OLIVE CERTIFIED could be tasted among the activities. People agreed that Lamara Extra Virgin Olive oil were from the best they have tasted.
